[Ri...aperto] Un paio di freeze completi al giorno...

Ciao a tutti,

Devo dire che il mio incontro con F25 non è certo stato indolore. Dopo aver passato due giorni a capire perchè non mi loggava più con il mio utente... adesso un paio di volte al giorno crash brutale.

L'ambiente grafico si blocca completamente a parte il mouse, posso andare in testuale con Alt-F2, ma anche se killo la applicazione di turno nessun risultato: appena provo a ritornare con Alt-F1 nell'ambiente grafico si blocca definitivamente senza nemmeno provare a ritornarci, cioè a quel punto si blocca del tutto e posso solo resettare.

Qualche idea di cosa potrebbe essere, o magari se qualche log potrebbe aiutarmi a capire?

Usi Gnome vero? Update o installazione nuova?
Per non resettare uccidi la sessione gnome-shell, almeno fai prima.

Potrebbe dipendere da un aggiornamento non andato a buon fine al 100% la cosa dell'utente. Hai provato un utente vergine nuovo? Il crash invece....darei la colpa alla scheda grafica, ma cosí senza altre info é dura.
Usi dei driver proprietari?
Il mio consiglio era solo riferito al momento in cui ti capita, apri una shell con alt+f2, ti logghi come root e fai ripartire gnome-shell.

PS: dici nell'atro thread che usi Dolphin??? Allora sei su KDE? Forse é bene chiarire questo smile

Si avevo provato, ma la gestione mi diventerebbe un po un delirio perchè la home del nuovo utente me la crea sulla SSD, che di solito uso come cache. Nei dischi fissi ho 1.5T di cose che se sposto poi sto fresco, e comunque non mi starebbero certo nella SSD e... non credo saprei ri-settare tutto da solo.

No. Ho una Radeon, che uso da più di due anni. Mi stupirei che ci fossero problemi di driver, finora se la è cavata benissimo con i driver OS, mi pare.

No uso Gnome. Però avevo usato Kde per un po (se ricordo bene in un aggiornamento sono passato ad usare Gnome) e preferisco Dolphin a Nautilus e altri file manager, quindi cerco sempre di usare quello. Ma anche Kwrite mi è rimasto nel cuore e sul desktop wink .

Ho provato il comando suggerito da Robyduck, ma si è congelata esattamente come negli altri casi...

ho provato ad andare a vedere qualche log per capire che cosa causi questo disastro, con

# less /var/log/messages

(prima linea ripetuta una 20ina di volte, e localhost journal: Could not insert metadata for item "file:///... anche lui penso almeno un centinaio di volte. ehm... no direi che potrebbero essere anche migliaia di linee)

Le ultime due cose che ho fatto girare prima del crash sono state VLC e Dolphin... ma non è che VLC riempie i log e fa crashare il sistema? Ma perchè? Ho cercato il significato del messaggio in giro, ma ho trovato cose che non mi dicevano niente.

  2. # dnf install memtest86+

    poi riavvia, ed in Grub seleziona memtest86+, fallo girare almeno 3 ore e vediamo se la RAM è ok;

  3. mostraci l'output di

    # lspci -vv
    # cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old

1. beh mi è successo con almeno tre applicazioni, quindi faccio fatica a determinare se sia stato causato da una di queste... sono Firefox, Dolphin e VLC

Ho provato anche a mettere l'iso (questa: memtest86+-5.01.iso, presa da qui: memtest86) su una USB, ma non va oltre ad un "_" lampeggiante.
