Computer che si blocca

Salve a tutti.
Ho un server con fedora 21 dove girano dei programmi sismici 24 ore su 24 che qualche volta si blocca. L’unica cosa da fare è spegnerlo e farlo ripartire.
Ho provato a guardare i messaggi di log tramite journalctl --since=yesterday, e questo è quello che riesco a vedere

Con “si blocca” Intendi freeze completo?
Se abiliti https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/Sysrq e usi la sequenza di tasti reisub (con alt+ctrl+sysrq premuti) si riavvia?
Hai hardware particolare? (la maggior parte dei freeze è legata a problemi di driver)

Il problema si manifesta da molto tempo, ma non ha una logica nel manifestarsi. E’ random

Ho dato un’occhiata al link di sysrq, ma non credo di averlo installato quando è stato compilato il kernel.

Nei kernel Fedora è presente, ma non attivo. Nel link che ho passato trovi come attivarlo. Il metodo più semplice consiste nell’eseguire seguente comando (e riavviare):

# echo 'kernel.sysrq = 1' > /etc/sysctl.d/90-sysrq.conf

L’idea di base è che se riesci a fare il reboot con la sequenza reisub, il kernel risponde, altrimenti il freeze è molto più grave. Riesci a passare ad un altro terminale, con alt+ctr+f3, f4 eccetera quando questo problema accade?

Ovviamente i primi tre tasti li puoi tenere premuti per tutto il tempo. La procedura serve a fare un riavvio forzato via kernel, molto meno traumatico di quello fisico. Se funziona, vuol dire che non abbiamo di fronte un blocco totale del sistema.
Prima di fare questa procedura però, prova prima a vedere se riesci a passare su un altro terminale (se funzionasse vorrebbe dire che il freeze è solo del server grafico).***

Sysrq che pulsante è?

Nelle tastiere italiane spesso è [R Sist]
Sysrq = SYStem ReQuest
R sist = Richiesta SISTema

Questa mattina ho trovato il computer nuovamente bloccato.
Ho fatto la procedura che mi avete consigliato ed in effetti è tornato alla schermata di accensione (quella con il bios tanto per intenderci), ma mooolto lentamente, e poi non riusciva a partire.
Ho allora deciso di riavviarlo con il pulsante di spegnimento, ma ora è morto proprio.
Ho dentro tutti i programmi, dati e quant’altro.
Probabilmente può essere rovinato la traccia della partenza del disco (spero sia quello per poter riavviare il tutto senza tanti dolori).
Potete darmi una mano?

Sospetto che l’hard disk non goda di buona salute. Vediamo se fsck da live individua qualcosa e se è il caso di effettuare un controllo SMART.

Procediamo per gradi. Inizialmente così:

  1. Procurati una http://doc.fedoraonline.it/Creare_LiveUSB a piacere di Fedora (meglio se di una versione supportata, quindi al momento 23 o 24).
  2. Esegui la live sul computer che non completa il boot.
  3. Recupera e posta qui i seguenti output:

  1. Procedi con fsck. Rispondi affermativamente (digitando “y” e dando invio) a qualsiasi domanda che il tool ti propone. Incolla comunque tutto il listato del terminale.

  1. In aggiunta, mostra anche questi output

Quell’errore riguarda la tua penna USB. Accade spesso quando a dd si da in pasto /dev/sdX anziché /dev/sdX1
dove X è il device. Praticamente dd ha forzato sulla penna USB settori di una dimensione che notoriamente appartiene al file system dedicato ai dispositivi ottici. Per rimettere apposto la penna USB apri un altro topic.

Potresti mostrarci l’output di

# dmesg

magari ripuliscilo da informazioni sensibili che potrebbero esserci come numeri seriali di schede madrie dischi fissi
