[Risolto] Owncloud

Volevo provare a tirare su un server Owncloud. Dopo averlo installato tramite repository Fedora, ho iniziato a leggere la documentazione “upstream”.
Tuttavia non mi sono granché chiari i settaggi predefiniti

Installare Owncloud dai repository modifica sostanzialmente la situazione iniziale sul quale si basa la documentazione ufficiale... Poi una volta completato il tutto potremmo anche fare una guida apposita

Ho risolto tutti i problemi e ho persino creato un certificato SSL per il protocollo HTTPS.
Appena possibile pubblicherò una guida :slight_smile:

http://owncloud.org/ lo puoi usare in maniera analoga a DropBox o simili, quindi puoi sia accedere direttamente ai tuoi file via web/webdav, sia sincronizzare vari dispositivi installando l’apposito client (Windows, MacOS X, GNU/Linux, Android, iOS). Puoi inoltre modificare e visualizzare online alcuni documenti, sincronizzare rubriche, note, condividere i file via link (impostando se vuoi password e/o data di scadenza), e fare una miriade di altre cose, anche grazie ai tanti plugin presenti (http://owncloud.org/features/)

Lo uso fin dalla prima versione e l’ho installato anni fa sulla rete locale di una scuola media: ogni alunno ha un suo username, una sua password, ed il relativo spazio web dove caricare i propri lavori e condividerli. E’ un software molto carino, anche se le procedure di aggiornamento sono state spesso un po’ problematiche e la documentazione un po’ scarna, anche se negli ultimi tempi è stata ampliata.

Ho proposto una serie di modifiche, che sono state accettate, per sistemare la parte della documentazione relativa all’installazione, aggiornamento e backup, ma non mi sono mai occupato della parte di configurazione. La futura guida di Caterpilar potrebbe essere una buona base per proporre alcune migliorie alla documentazione ufficiale.

Una buona alternativa che ho scoperto recentemente, molto più leggera e con funzionalità molto ridotte, per chi ha bisogno esclusivamente di condividere i file via web ed accedervi via webdav tramite autenticazione, è Nginx (http://nginx.org/en/docs/http/ngx_http_dav_module.html).

Per quanto riguarda la sicurezza del proprio server web consiglio un utile test: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/.
