[Risolto] Scheda wireless Lenovo T400

Buonasera.
Spero di aver scelto la sezione giusta.

Dopo aver risolto i problemi dell’installazione e altre cose varie, mi trovo con la scheda wireless che fai i capricci.
Ho già tentato diverse impostazioni anche se poco convinto dell’esito e infatti il risultato è rimasto invariato. Vede la rete, tenta di collegarsi ma a un certo punto si ferma. Nel frattempo chiede continuamente la password, che è corretta e che uso anche con altri pc e smartphone connessi regolarmente. Idem per le impostazioni, pari pari a tutti gli altri.
So che le indicazioni sotto sono minime ma vorrei evitare di postare a priori risultati magari senza alcuna utilità. Ho trovato in altre discussione dei comandi per delle verifiche, per ora riporto i risultati di Rfkill list e iwconfig sperando nella loro utilità

Connetti momentaneamente la macchina ad internet, mediante cavo ethernet.
Installa il pacchetto diagnostico inxi:

# dnf install inxi

Vediamo qualche informazione in più:

Siccome mi piace cercare di capire le cose (nell’ambito delle mie capacità), ho fatto qualche ricerca ed ho scoperto, credo, delle cose interessanti in merito al mancato funzionamento della scheda wireless.
Inizierei con postare il risultato di iwconfig, forse non propriamente il massimo per Fedora, ma da aspirante killer di SO ci ho provato. Questo il risultato per me veramente sorprendente [code][massimo@localhost ~]$ iwconfig
enp0s25 no wireless extensions.

[/code] Faccio presente che la scheda è regolarmente attivata dal pulsante meccanico.
Altra scoperta. Nel mio SO sono presenti questi file: ipw2100; ipw2200 e iwLwifi. Ho evidenziato quest’ultimo perché guardando questa vecchia discussione riferita ancora a Fedora 10 http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Installing_Fedora_10_on_a_ThinkPad_T400 credo sia interessante questo passaggio:

Wireless with iwlagn driver (Intel WiFi Link 5100/5300 WLAN controller)

Facendo riferimento a queste indicazioni credo che il driver corretto per la mia scheda sia proprio questo iwlagn e non quello installato attualmente, ovvero, iwlwifi. Ora però arrivano i problemi.
Se è corretto quanto ho capito, come procedo?
Penso che debba rimuovere l’attuale e procedere con questo driver “nuovo” oppure installare questo -a fianco- dell’altro?
In caso di installazione del nuovo, ipw2100 e 2200 servono ancora?

Fedora 10? Sono 14 rilasci, circa 7 anni…

Buonasera.
Novità positive per quanto riguarda la scheda wireless.
Anzitutto, @arkanoid, ti ringrazio molto per l’interesse e mi scuso moltissimo per il problema “inesistente” che c’è (o c’era) con la scheda.

Oggi sono andato con il pc da un amico che ha tre reti wifi diverse in azienda e, incredibile, si è connesso all’istante con tutte.
A questo punto, il problema è con il router di casa e con quello dell’ufficio, che sono per giunta di marche diverse. Ma cosa li accomuna nel creare il problema? Nulla, se non che l’unica cosa in comune che mi viene in mente è l’uso di caratteri “strani” nelle password. Nient’altro. Ma è mai possibile una cosa simile?
Più tardi cambio la password di casa e vedo che succede, sarebbe per me una cosa incredibile.
Se funziona e può eventualmente essere utile a qualcuno, vi aggiorno, diversamente metterò il risolto.
Scusa/te ancora per il aver sollevato un problema -nullo- :wall:

Beh, devo dire che tutto funziona e ora sto usando Fedora con la wifi. Si direbbe che proprio non gradisce i caratteri con la dieresi. Eliminati quelli, si è connessa senza problemi. Ora mi toccherà cambiare tutte quelle degli altri che si connettono wifi con quella pwd. Da parte mia la cosa la ritengo alquanto … sibillina, chissà se capita solo a me.

Non preoccuparti… Se si impara qualcosa, anche i “problemi nulli” sono utili. Spesso si tende a tralasciare troppo in fretta le soluzioni più ovvie.
Dopotutto, Il log di wpa_supplicant è abbastanza auto-esplicativo. Mi spiace di averlo letto solo ora, dopo che avevi già risolto per conto tuo:

Credo che l’inconveniente sia stato causato da una qualche diversa rappresentazione dei caratteri speciali che avevi scelto per la password.

Toglimi però una curiosità… A post #7 avevamo editato - o creato, a seconda della situazione pregressa del tuo sistema, che non conosco - questo file:

# cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

Togliendo la riga in questione (o rimuovendo del tutto il file, se non ti serve per altro), la connessione funziona comunque?

@arkanoid, ci mancherebbe che non ci togliamo delle curiosità
Dunque, il file è presente nella cartella e al suo interno ha tre righe uguali con questa scritta blacklist mac80211 . Non ho cancellato nulla ne rimosso il file, l’ho semplicemente rinominato, credo che sia sufficiente affinché il SO non lo trovi. Ora sono connesso con il wireless e sto rispondendo con il file rinominato e tutto funziona.

In merito alle altre cose, memore e con l’esperienza di problematiche simili in altro forum, ti assicuro che ho controllato una infinità di volte la password proprio per evitare d’incorrere in errori di digitazione, l’ho quindi provata e inserita in modi diversi: digitazione diretta; copiandola dal gestore pwd; digitandola in un file di testo per poi copiarla.
I caratteri con la dieresi li ho sempre fatti allo stesso modo nei 3 diversi Linux: AltGr+maisc+duepunti e infine il carattere voluto. Non so proprio cosa pensare anche perché li vedovo regolarmente nel campo Password. Ho pensato anche ad una differenza tra i caratteri del tastierino numerico del pc fisso e questo, ma anche attivando la tastierina numerica del portatile non è cambiato nulla. Tuttavia è sempre possibile via sia qualche configurazione/impostazione particolare che (mi) sfugge e/o non conosco.
La cosa curiosa è che nei documenti di Libre li digito e vedo correttamente, come come nella stampa.
Per me resta un mistero, se hai qualche idea sono pronto alla prova :thumb:

Devo fare una piccola revisione sul tutto funziona iniziale. Non so se c’entra qualcosa il file, ma è diventata un po’ ballerina, nel senso che ogni tanto va alla ricerca della rete. Cosa che ieri non faceva e funzionava egregiamente. Rimando prossimamente dopo qualche giorno di prova con/senza la conferma del corretto funzionamento.

@arkanoid, completo l’aggiunta all’ultimo post in merito alla prova che mi hai chiesto.
Dopo qualche giorno di prova attivando e disattivando il file blacklist.conf, sono giunto al punto di lasciarlo lì, così com’è. Non so, se e fino a, che punto possa influenzare ma se lo rinomino per non farlo vedere al SO la wi-fi diventa instabile alla ricerca di … come ho indicato nell’aggiunta.
Forse dipende anche da altro?
Se hai suggerimenti e vuoi fare altre prove, ci sono :thumb:
