Qualcuno di animo gentile saprebbe indicarmi un buon lettore per i file video piu diffusi in ambiente windows come avi o mpeg? Premetto che ho su fedora 7

Io aggiungerei per installarlo:
yum install mplayer*
così installa tutto compresa la gui!!!
avevo gia installato mplayer ma non appare nel menu e se provo ad avviarlo da terminale non parte comunque… cosa avro sbagliato?
non come l’hai installato???
Prova a digitare:
mplayer /directory/dove/hai/file_audiocon yum o sorgenti se con yum digita:
yum remove mplayere poi:
yum install mplayer*mi raccando con l’asterisco così ti dovrebbe installare tutto!!!
guarda la guida d’installazione di Gregory Gulit per F7, sul sito http://fedoraserver.unipa.it/fedora/desktop; se abiliti il repo freshrpm come dice lui e nn crei conflitti con altri repo, ti spiega come intallare Xine, mplayer, VLC, realplayer… insomma puoi vedere di tutto; io con Xine vedo tutto credo, cmq tengo installati anche mplayer e VLC così per sfizio.

se lo installi con yum, assicurati che livna sia disabilitato, così lo installi da freshrmps!
tipo fai:
yum --disablerepo=livna install mplayer*se no si creano conflitti, perché mplayer c’è anche su livna.

Perchè i pacchetti xine di livna xine-lib-extra vanno in conflitto con i pacchetti xine-lib-moles di rpmforge.
Disinstalla i xine-lib-moles ed installa xine-lib-extras di livna. Ma non so se si sistema stai mischiando i repos, da dove hai installato xine?
strano però… io i repo li configuro con livna disabled… e sono sicuro di non aver installato niente abilitando livna… mmm
ora cmq provo…
lvn7 è un suffisso livna, vuol dire che li ha “pacchettizzati” livna.

Ma da quel che credo, tu hai installato xine da livna, originariamente, ed ora ti trova gli aggiornamenti su rpmforge che, come sai, sono incompatibili.
Disinstalla tutto xine ecc. e reinstallalo tenendo livna disabilitato.
sembra che ho risolto… ho fatto uno yum uninstall xine* (che tra l’altro mi ha rimosso anche amarok)
e poi yum install xine* e ha installato tutto… forse era un programmoa diverso che creava i problemi… non so mplayer o qualcosa del genere…

L’ho rimosso e poi installato tenendo disabilitato livna ma mi dà sempre lo stesso problema

Prova a non installare xine-lib-extras-debuginfo e xine-lib-debuginfo, non ti servirebbero granchè in ogni caso:
yum --disablerepo=livna --exclude=xine-lib-extras-debuginfo --exclude=xine-lib-debuginfo-1.1.2-2.fc6.rf install xine*
